There are two separate charges on two separate schedules: a one-time fee for the project, then a monthly Care Plan once your site is live. Here's how both work, so nothing catches you off guard.
The short version
Your project is one fixed price, paid as two invoices. A Care Plan is a second, separate subscription that keeps the site online.
The estimator on the home page gives you a starting number, not a bill. Once we've talked your project through by email, I send you the agreed price as two PayPal invoices: half to get started and half when it's finished. That's the whole project cost, and nothing recurs from it.
After launch, a Care Plan is what keeps the site online: hosting, backups, security updates and monitoring. It's billed monthly, separately from the project, and every live site needs one. It doesn't start on its own when you pay the project invoices. You set it up yourself once the site launches.
The full flow
- A free assessmentAnswer a few questions about your project and you'll see a starting price right away. It's a ballpark, not a quote.
- We talk it through by emailWe work out what you actually need and land on one fixed price together. No hourly surprises, and the number doesn't change mid-build.
- A deposit invoice for halfI send a PayPal invoice for half the agreed price, and that's when I start building. It's a one-time charge for your project, not a subscription.
- A final invoice for the other halfWhen the project is finished, I invoice the rest. Once that's paid, the project fee is settled in full.
- You set up your Care PlanA finished site needs somewhere to run, so you pick a plan (Silver or higher) and set up the monthly subscription yourself. It starts whenever you activate it.
One thing worth saying plainly: a bigger project price doesn't include ongoing hosting. Even the largest projects need a Care Plan afterward, because the project fee and the monthly fee are always two different charges.
Who holds the code and the domain
While your site is in my care, I host it and I hold the code and the domain.
If you ever want to take it with you, you can buy the code and the domain from me. We'll agree how that works up front, before the project starts, so there's no guessing later.
Which Care Plan fits?
Silver, Gold and Platinum are flat monthly plans you can sign up for yourself. Meteorite is the top tier, from $949 a month, and it's scoped to your specific situation rather than sold at a flat price, so just talk to me about that one.
