I'm Bob — a software engineer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who also forges knives in a home shop. Bob's Billets exists because both crafts start the same way: understand what's actually needed, shape it deliberately, and stand behind the result.
The care plans follow the same logic. Bob's Bench is routine upkeep — the kind of work that happens at the workbench, not the forge. Bob's Toolbelt keeps you equipped for the ordinary, day-to-day stuff. Bob's Forge is for a site that's actively being shaped — regular changes, real momentum. Bob's Anvil is the heaviest, most load-bearing tier: the one everything else can be built on.
The name itself comes from the same place: a billet is the raw steel bar a blade starts as, before it's been forged into anything. Every project starts as one — unshaped, full of possibility, waiting to be worked.
Most projects are built in C#, ASP.NET Core, and Blazor — the same stack behind the career-platform work I do day to day, applied to something smaller and entirely yours. No page-builder plugins holding the site together; if it needs to do something specific, it's written to do that thing.
