The kind of work I like
I like building the public-facing stuff: stores, booking pages, sites a business really depends on. I'm equally happy with back-end work that has no front end at all, or with getting two programs that don't talk to each other to exchange data.
Everything is written by hand, so there's no page-builder plugin holding your site together behind the scenes.
What I'm building: BobFit
BobFit is a fitness app I'm building myself: workout logging, coaching features, and a workout library you can customize, with a short example video for each exercise.
The biggest decision so far is how it gets from the web onto phones. I'm building it so the web app and the phone app can share most of the same code. That kind of choice is cheap to make early and painful to untangle later, and I bring the same thinking to client projects.
It's my own project, so you can see how I build without needing anyone's permission.
What it costs
These are starting prices. After we talk, you get one fixed number for the project. Pages decide a website's price and functionality decides an application's, so a twenty-page informational site can cost less than a five-page tool with logins and a database.
These prices are the floor. There's no ceiling on what I can build.
Keeping it running after launch
Once your site is live, it needs a home and a little looking after: hosting, backups, security updates. That's what the monthly Care Plans cover. Every live site needs one, and Silver is the minimum. Plans renew monthly until you cancel, and if you do cancel, the site goes offline when the month you've paid for ends.

When I might not be the right fit
I'm one person, so I'm not the right fit for everyone. If you want a template site for a couple hundred dollars, a drag-and-drop editor so you can change every page yourself, or a team on call at 3 a.m., you'd probably be happier somewhere else. Not sure which you are? Just ask me.
